The Scare Games -The History Of Room 56 (My part of the story)

It was a windy night. The windows were open and Echo was awake and was looking shocked. If I would call him,he would go in a more worse shock than this.Just then I saw a paper/note  hanging on the wall.I slowly pulled it out and read it.After reading that note anyone might get chills.Even a monster could.I slowly opened the door.CREAKKK.Echo,slowly turned back and saw me.He sighed with relief."What are you doing now at this time?Aren't you tired after the training?" asked Echo."Its better if I ask you the same question.Anyways as usual going for jogging." I replied."At this time !?" asked Echo.At a second I thought I was caught. "Um Yeah" I replied back and got away from the building.I sneaked into the Library quietly.I searched for the book of room 56.Then suddenly my rainbow puffle came out of my fur and picked an old book named Truth. The most fascinating thing was, the book had a certain mechanism.I switched a dial kind of thing and the bookshelf moved. It looked like an entrance to a cave.I showed my torchlight and light up the way. Then I saw loads of books about the accounts of people living in rooms dated from 1313 to current.I searched in the year 1313 and found a book named room 56.I read it.

'Room 56 was also known as the Haunted room. This was because there were three students known as the university's pride which disappeared. The first one always used live under the water so his other teammates the one who was huge and loved snow, known as the abominable scarer and the one who had wings, also known as the flying devil, helped Nessie by creating underwater routes to the places in Monsters University. The three were top scarers. The one who was jealous of them used to change colour and turn invisible, his name was Randalf. To become the top student he separated the three of them by fights. At last he transported them to the penguin world in different lands.Later he was arrested and was kept in jail.'

"Different lands huh?" I said to myself. What I understood was, that the Loch Ness Monster was teleported near the Foyer Hotel near Urquhart Castle in Scotland.,the Yeti to the Himalayas and the Jersey Devil to Southern Jersery".
Suddenly someone put their hand on me.I was scared. But it was Echo.

The Scare Games - A Letter From 1313 (Echo's part of the story)

I awoke at midnight. The weekend had started, but I should of been asleep. In the corner of my eye, I noticed a crack in the wall: I hurried over to it. I squeezed my fingers through and grabbed what seemed to be a letter. It was...but it was dated on the year 1313 - when Monsters University was founded...

Dear Room 56,
If you are staying in Room 56, you have no chance of ever becoming a scarer. We are from 1313, and we know something about this room. It's haunted. Not by a ghost. By us. We lived here for 5 years. 5 whole years at University. Then, we vanished. You have no chance of surviving in this university. Everybody after us in room 56 will vanish without a trace. Nobody will remember them. It's like they'll be erased from time. You have been warned, and I hope it isn't too late by the time you read this.
~The Vanished Monsters

I was shocked. Could this really be true? Cursed? The room was haunted? That was silly. It was most likely a fake - someone was just trying to scare us. Maybe it was part of a test! I would keep quiet about it and hope that room 56 wasn't haunted. I was super scared, but I had to concentrate. We were practicing our skills with OK in the morning. I had to get back to sleep. I closed my eyes, and imagined the vanishing monsters disappear over the cruel years to come. I stuffed the letter back into the crack, and hoped nobody would notice...My heart was beating faster than ever before. I heard sounds from the window. Suddenly, I felt dizzy. I was definitely ill. There was something wrong with me. Was I just imagining things? This was the second time I had woken in the night, and hopefully the last time...

The Scare Games- Part 8 (Bubsey's part of the story)

Today was Saturday. The day we went to the MMOMA! We got in a bus and drove there. I looked and there was student art on posters. I spotted a picture I did of a seeing eye snake at the Art Club. Then I saw Art taped to a poster. They were going to sent these drawings back to the school anyway, so I left him there. We walked and saw the art by the Pros. I saw a sculpture of the MU     campus there even! After that we left and got back to our room. I posted on The Penguin Pages like nothing had happened and we all relaxed the rest of the day. Then we had the meeting for Oozma Kappa. Art was there, but still stuck in a posterboard. The others told me some monsters did that as a prank because they thought Art was kind of scary. "Well, that was mean." said Pingy. We did a welcoming ceremony for Echo and continued with the meeting. "Today, it was agreed Bubsey will help us train for scaring." said Terri.  "I've got some great Tactics!" I said. "Kid's awake!" I yelled. Everyone got to the ground. "Pet Puffle!" I yelled. "ROARR!" yelled everyone. It pretty much went like that until it was time to get back and (Yawn) go to sleep.

The Scare Games ~ The Museum of Art (Echo's part of the story)

We quickly gathered around the School of Aquatics. We had our swimming bags, nothing else. It was a cool, yet dry Friday morning and I was ready for a swim. As we jumped into the water, showing the coach our creativity, we felt an icy chill. The water was freezing!
"I hope you're all good swimmers," started the coach, "because you're each going to have to swim 5 widths of the river as a warm up! Good luck." The coach blew his whistle and we started swimming. I found swimming much easier than as a penguin - maybe it was because I was stronger. After our widths, we found ourselves learning to scare underwater. It was a tricky task, and robots were already in the water. The coach mentioned something about the loch ness monster.
"What's that?" asked Bubsey. Me and Pingy knew because we had been to Scotland on a penguin visit.
"It's this myth of a monster that lives in this big lake. He's called Nessie, and apparently he comes from the monster world!" Pingy replied. I was amazed by that. We were ordered to do more swimming and scaring before we were out and back into our dorm to grab our bags. Pingy had decided that we would go to the mueseum on Friday. He hadn't warned us, until he told us that the bus was arriving in two minutes! We rushed to the bus stop and made it just in time. On Saturday, we would be practicing with OK.

After stopping at MonsterDonalds for a some MonsterNuggets and fries, we found ourselves surrounded by paintings. There were so many! I took pictures on my camera. Unlike the human world, you were allowed to have flash photography in mueseums. Here are some of the amazing paintings, sketches and pictures I took on my camera...

Some of the pictures I saw various monsters in. I'd seen them at university. Some of them were even in OK. As we gazed at the amazing pictures, we were escorted around the huge mueseum. Once it came to an end, I wanted to see more artwork! We had a great time at the mueseum and we were exhausted after all the walking and swimming we had done so we came straight back to the dorm and fell fast asleep. It was our first training session with OK tommorow...

The Scare Games - Swim Like The Loch Ness Monster (My part of the story)

By hearing that we are going to The Monster Museum Of  Modern Art,I was stoked. But before that we had to go to the School Of Aquatics."Pingy!" Bubsey and Echo yelled."Coming!" I replied back.In the School Of Aquatics, they don't allow other baggage other than which contain swimming accessories. So we left all our baggage in our rooms. After the class we could get back to our room and  pick our bags. For no more trouble I left all my puffles in Sallyshortt's room. Why?! If the room service guy comes in he would definitely find them out.P.S. Sally doesn't have a swimming class today and she'll be in her room studying till we come back as she has an important exam. Finally we got to the School Of Swimming."I want you to scare penguin robots from under the water." said the coach.Everyone was quite confused."But we scare children through the closet door of their rooms." said Bubsey."If Nessie could do it, even you can!" replied the lady.Me,Bubsey and Echo looked at ourselves. This only meant one thing. The Loch Ness Monster,Nessie is from this world. Then we started doing what she said.At first there was robot boat with robot penguins.I swam up slowly and ROAR!The container not only got filled but it exploded..Even Bubsey and Echo were doing excellent scaring..Soon the class was over and we went to pick our bags.We walked to the bus stop.We were right on time.

The Scare Games ~ The Leaflet (Echo's part of the story)

Friday Morning. I woke up at around the same time as Pingy and Bubsey. The perfect chance to tell them about the mueseum trip! I showed them the leaflet I had taken...
Monster Museum Exhibit

THIS WEEKEND ONLY
MONSTROPOLIS – The Monster Museum of Modern Art is set to feature a collection of night-themed artwork, "Midnight", showcasing the creativity of MU's most talented student artists.

The exhibition features works by juniors and seniors, with each piece hand-selected by the Art faculty. Included in the "Midnight" exhibit are more than 100 pieces, including sculpture, painting, charcoal sketches, photography, and performance shrieking.

"For decades, the MMOMA has been a valuable partner for Monsters University in promoting student art exhibitions," said MMOMA curator James Francoloni. "I am always moved by the passion and skill of these young artists -- for they have a different way of seeing the world, since so many of them have many more eyes than I."

"The MMOMA gives our students exposure and prestige that few university students experience," said MU Art department chair, Dr. Paola Piccolo. "Fantastic talents on display in an amazing venue. Congratulations are in order for every student who made a contribution this year."

The Monsters Museum of Modern Art is funded by the Monstropolis Arts Council. The Museum is open Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. excluding holidays. Admission is free for holders of valid MU student IDs.

I couldn't wait to go to the MMOMA.
"I'll come with you!" said Bubsey.
"I will too. We've got nothing else planned on Saturday. Are we taking the bus?" asked Pingy.
"Yeah! And what's best is it's free!" I exclaimed. We had to get up and go for our lessons. First was Aquatics by Troll Bridge!

The Scare Games - Echo's Roar (Echo's part of the story)

Thursday. The Scaring Day was back on! I woke at about seven o' clock in the morning, brushed my teeth, ate my cereal and ran out of the dorm into the corridor. There was a strict rule about not running in the corridor but I wanted to be there early. Luckily, nobody caught me. I caught the bus from our dorm to the School of Scaring because my legs were aching. I had left Bubsey and Pingy behind, but they would arrive later. I kept thinking of all the rules you had to obey. Close the closest door. Watch out for sharp objects. Scare the child, but don't let anything from the human world touch you. I was beginning to forget about the penguin life! The bus stopped and I slowly walked across the path and up to the School of Scaring. There were lots of monsters there already. In fact, it had already started because of the fact that the school couldn't hold so many monsters in one room at a time! I watched as the containers filled up with fake screams - it was all fake. They couldn't use the stuff at Monsters Inc because it was too dangerous but I was glad that they found the equipment. 10 doors, 10 queues. I joined the back of the queue of a bright blue door. I hoped I would scare a boy robot. But girl's screams were always the best. Pingy and Bubsey entered and they chose their door. I was already second in the queue! Time had gone so fast and I needed time to think. But before I knew it, the monster before me laughed and watched his container fill to the top. I was worried now. What if the child didn't scream? What if I forgot the rules? But I had to go in. So I did...

It was quiet and eerie inside. I creaked open the closet door and shut it tightly. It reminded me of the penguin world. But I was a monster now - ready to scare. There were drawings on the walls, most likely put there to fool the monsters. The drawings were by the robot kid. They showed monsters scaring him, he was hiding in one of them. He even had a photograph of a monster! That put me off, but I knew it was only fake. I hadn't actually looked at the child. That's when I realised there was no child. The child was gone. I looked around, scared for the first time in my life. Was this a trick? I rushed over to the closet door and pulled it open. All that was in there was clothes. A chill was sent down my spine. It was dark in here and there were loads of creepy paintings and artwork. I wanted to become a penguin again: but I couldn't.

After a few more minutes, two penguins from the CDA arrived after finding that the door was sealed and a monster was trapped in there. They noted the fact that the scream container was empty. But they broke the door down and they entered the closet, which was now no longer full of clothes. I was crouching down, looking for a way out.
"Uh, we're very sorry about this, Echo," he said, reading my name tag. "There was a malfunction with your door. We hope you understand but you can join the front of the queue next to yours. We'll find the robot kid - don't worry - he's only a robot."
I quickly joined the front of the queue of the next door. I entered swiftly, and held the door open until I was certain there was a child in the room. I wouldn't get distracted ever again. I got into position, knelt over the bed, and gave my hugest roar and made the scariest face. The child jumped up and screamed loudly, before falling back into bed. I rushed outside and checked the scream container! I had done it - I had filled the container.

That took about half the day up - as well as the scaring lessons. I had more lessons later that day, but I won't go into detail about them. But as I walked back to our dorm with Pingy and Bubsey, chatting about how our day went, we heard a loud noise. I knew it would instantly get reported - there was a no noise rule, but it seemed to be coming from our dorm. That's two rules broken - it turns out that Pingy's fur is made up of puffles! I heard the room inspection were coming today, and I quickly warned Pingy and Bubsey. We entered and started to dance. We were distracted and when I finally looked at my watch, an hour had past. The room inspection arrived at 8 o clock, and sometimes she was early! There were monsters of all different sizes, on the beds, in the bath tub, even in the sink! It was crammed and Bubsey immediatly shouted for everyone to get out. I wondered how they got in! They took the disco ball, the guitars and left me, Bubsey and Pingy alone in what felt like a deserted room.
"Quick! Let's tidy everything up and put your puffles away, Pingy!" I said.
"Don't worry - they'll go back in." Pingy replied. We heard a knock on the door. A voice called room inspection. A large monster woman entered and looked around our dorm.
"Well done - wait what's that hanging off your body?" asked the woman.
"Uh, they're like seeing-eye snakes but on my body!" said Pingy thinking of an answer.
"Very well. You have completed the dorm inspection. Now, have you heard large amounts of noise, because I've got lots of complaints.
"No," we all lied. She left. I hopped into bed and we switched the lights off. Tomorrow was Friday, then it was the weekend. There was a field-trip to the Monster Museum in Monstropolis on Saturday. I was going but I hadn't yet asked Bubsey or Pingy. I was looking forward to tomorrow - we had the School of Aquatics and we were swimming and using a boat on Troll Bridge! Plus, more lessons. Nothing much else is happening tomorrow..
